Geisel Academy of Educators and Scholars - Teaching with TEACHABLE: Transforming Case-Based Learning with Gen-AI

  • Overview
  • Register
  • Faculty
  • Content/Tests

Date & Location
Wednesday, May 27, 2026, 12:00 PM - Sunday, May 27, 2029, 1:00 AM

Credits
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), ACPE Contact Hours (1.00 hours), ANCC Nursing Contact Hours (1.00 hours), ASWB Social Work Credit(s) (1.00 hours), CDR Dietetic CPEU(s) (1.00 hours), CME-Designated Participation Credit (1.00 hours)

Overview

Generative AI has the potential to transform medical education through unprecedented content creation, individualized learning, and timely feedback. Educators have the opportunity to harness this potential by intentionally applying gen-AI to augment and transform pedagogy, grounded in principles of adult learning theory. In this talk, we will first review adult learning theories relevant to case-based learning, then illustrate the potential of gen-AI to deliver personalized yet scalable case-based learning that supports self-directed learning and deliberate practice. Participants will leave with an enhanced understanding of how to leverage gen-AI in their daily clinical educator practice, including appreciating opportunities and critically appraising constraints.

Presenter

Galina Gheihman, MD
Assistant Professor of Neurology
Harvard Medical School & Mass General Brigham

Galina Gheihman, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and a general neurologist at Mass General Brigham, in Boston, MA. Dr. Gheihman earned her medical degree at Harvard Medical School. She completed her adult neurology residency in the Mass General Brigham Neurology Program, where she served as Chief Resident in 2023-2024. Dr. Gheihman is the founder of the NeuEJM Medical Education Journal Club, co-founder of the NeuroHumanities Network, co-leader of the Medical Education Track in the MGB Neurology Residency, and co-director of the Neurology for the Non-Neurologist CME course at MGB.
