Overview
NAMI NH’s nationally recognized Connect Program integrates best practices demonstrated to increase the competence and confidence of healthcare professionals to identify and work with persons who are at risk for suicide. Connect training focuses on prevention, early detection, and intervention. Following a Zero Suicide model and recommended practices through the Joint Commission Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations, Connect training provides strategies to guide a health care system through the components of comprehensive services and a safety net between the client, their care team and their support system.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss their role and responsibilities as a healthcare professional in order to offer prevention and protection of persons at risk for suicide.
  2. Recognize individuals who are suicidal or at risk for suicide.
  3. Apply risk assessment techniques and intervention strategies.

There is no registration fee, but advance registration is required for planning purposes.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Dartmouth Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

American Medical Association (AMA)
Dartmouth Health designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 4.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Dartmouth Health designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 4.00 ANCC contact hours. 

Social Workers (ASWB)
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Dartmouth Health is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 4.00 general continuing education credits.

All other learners may claim CME-designated participation credit. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of CME-designated participation credit for programs certified for credit by organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Education.

Receiving Credit

If you wish to apply for ASWB credit, you will need to enter your license number in your CE Profile by following these steps:

  • Log in to Dartmouth Health's CE portal.

  • From the My Account Menu, select Profile.

  • Ensure your degree and profession are accurately reflected

  • Enter the state license type, License #, and Expiration date

  • Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Submit
