Overview

This session will explore processes and strategies for successful team- and patient-facing debriefs after a severe event during maternal health care. Our AIM implementation team and the NHPQC will briefly share administrative updates, details from the Perinatal Mental Health Conditions (PMHC) Patient Safety Bundle, and relevant data. We will then hear from the Geisel School of Medicine’s Ella Damiano, MD, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Joel Bradley, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, who will share models for multidisciplinary “hot debriefing” on an obstetric unit and best practices for debriefing with a patient. The speakers will walk through the design and implementation of their units debrief processes before opening up a Q&A session with attendees.
