Pediatric Grand Rounds is a professional continuing education lecture series aimed at improving health outcomes through lifelong learning opportunities. This presentation discusses the care of newborn opioid exposed infants in a rural setting.

About our Presenter

Kristin Reese, MD is a Pediatric Hospitalist at Dartmouth Health Children’s and an Instructor of Pediatrics at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She completed medical school at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and her pediatric residency at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.

1. Discuss the challenges of OUD and NOWS management in rural areas.
2. Describe innovative solutions to meet the needs of rural populations when caring for opioid exposed newborns.
3. Explain the utility of toxicology testing, including ongoing work to align newborn guidelines with best practices.
