Overview

Participants in Medicine Grand Rounds will be able to identify and apply the most current treatment guidelines and standards of practice to provide optimal patient care, incorporating the principles of evidence-based medicine and innovative strategies to achieve clinical quality and safety goals.

About our Presenter
Dr. Amy McMichael is a Philadelphia native who received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed internship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and Dermatology residency at the University of Michigan School of Medicine.  She has been a faculty member at Wake Forest Baptist Medical center since 1994. Dr. McMichael’s clinical and research interests include hair and scalp disorders and skin of color.  She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a past Chair of the Skin of Color Society and the National Medical Association Dermatology Section.

Learning Outcome
Participants will be able to review the literature, current treatment options and the challenges in diagnosis and management of hyperpigmentation, keloids, acne and other diagnoses in skin of color patients.
