Overview

Nursing leaders recognize a strong connection between a culturally diverse nursing workforce and the ability to provide safe, quality, culturally-concordant patient care. Internationally educated nurses are a great addition to the growing and evolving workforce at DHMC. The wealth of knowledge and clinical expertise they bring signals a new height in inclusive and borderless caring which can be equally exciting and overwhelming. Join us as we learn from “nurse influencers” who have lived the trajectory of international nursing at DHMC. Dr. Jennifer Orbeso, RN, Nursing Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, Cigal Okojie, RN, and Nicolette Demeritte, RN will share stories of self-stewardship, struggles and success of foreign nurses at DHMC. Get ready to hear chronicled stories that will surely change your perspective of foreign nurses.
