NH AIM/ERASE Maternal Mortality Webinar Series - Integration of Smoking Cessation into Everyday Practice

This session will provide an overview of smoking cessation resources as they apply to perinatal populations. Our AIM implementation team and the NHPQC will briefly share administrative updates and relevant data from New Hampshire's birthing population. We will then hear from Nora Workman, MSN, CNM, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at DHMC, who will discuss resources for successful conversations with patients around smoking cessation as well as practical tools including pharmacotherapy options, quit plans, cessation apps, and example scripts and dot phrases for use in patient settings. We will end the hour with an interactive Q&A session.

1. Identify one or more smoking cessation resources (including pharmacotherapy options, quit plans, and digital cessation tools) that can be used to support patients in clinical practice.
2. Describe effective strategies for scripting productive smoking cessation discussions with patients.
