Overview

Throughout our careers in medicine, transfusion medicine is likely integrated into our practice. We have designed a conference, Transfusion Medicine, Thrombosis and Hemostasis that will cover the following topics: Transfusion Safety: Donor to Patient, Transfusion Indications, Pre-Transfusion Testing, Transfusion Reactions, Coagulation Testing and Bleeding, Bleeding Emergencies, Coagulation Testing and Thrombosis and Reversal of Anticoagulation.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the safety requirements associated with blood transfusions.
  2. Identify and address bleeding emergencies.
  3. Manage anticoagulation reversal.
