Overview
This two-hour learning activity will help healthcare professionals build the skills and confidence needed to support their patients presenting to the emergency department with substance use related concerns. Through interactive, case-based learning activities you will get to practice recognizing, screening, treating, and/or referring patients with substance use disorder.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the assessment instruments and techniques used to screen for SUD.
  2. Identify at least three approaches used to support patients with SUD.
  3. Apply evidence-based practices in the screening and promotion of recovery for patients with SUD.

Registration for this program is now closed. 

Registration is online only. There is no registration fee, but advance registration is required for planning purposes.

Please note: This program is only open to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center employees working in the ED with an RN, LPN or Paramedics license/degree.

In support of improving patient care, Dartmouth Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
