Overview

More than 1,500 AI-enabled devices now hold FDA authorization, ambient documentation tools draft notes during visits, and predictive algorithms flag deterioration before the bedside team does. This opening session surveys those tools as they are actually used, across cardiology, radiology, oncology, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, primary care, and critical care. Dr. Speisman, an academic internist and founder of the American College of Artificial Intelligence and Medicine, argues that AI literacy now belongs among the competencies every health professional is expected to hold.
