Cherenkov Imaging in Radiation Therapy

Taking place at the Dartmouth Cancer Center in Lebanon, NH, this one-day symposium will focus on applications of Cherenkov imaging in clinical radiation therapy. Featuring talks from leaders in the field and representatives from leading industry partners, the event will also include live Cherenkov Imaging demonstrations in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Applied Sciences at DCC. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the most up-to-date applications of Cherenkov imaging technology in the clinic and get hands-on exposure to software tools, along with lunch featuring a poster session highlighting our research.

Target audience
Radiation oncologists, medical physicists, therapists (RTTs), trainees, and industry partners.

1. Recognize the ability of Cherenkov imaging to detect radiation therapy incidents that could have otherwise gone undetected.
2. Describe the role of the multidisciplinary radiation oncology team in monitoring treatment delivery, including implementing corrective actions to address inaccuracies and optimizing patient safety and treatment outcomes.
3. Discuss the critical importance of precise and reproducible patient positioning throughout radiation delivery in modern radiation.
