Northern New England Wilderness and Travel Medicine Symposium

This conference is a unique opportunity to bring together the leading educators, researchers, health care providers, and rescuers who are committed to public health and safety in our region. Wilderness Medicine and Travel Medicine are multidisciplinary fields with significant overlap that include pre-hospital providers, nurses, associate providers and physicians to care for patients in remote and international settings where resources may be limited. By bringing together leaders and learners in the fields of Wilderness and Travel medicine we envision a conference that inspires, educates and provides opportunities for networking as well as the development of individual and organizational efforts to positively impact public health in the region.

The symposium will include combined sessions relevant to both Wilderness and Travel Medicine in addition specialty tracks for Wilderness Medicine and Travel Medicine. The Wilderness Medicine track will offer diverse lecture topics such as managing bear attacks, backcountry joint reductions, urban and rural SAR tactics, and long falls on steep snowed terrain in the White Mountains. The skills building workshop topics range from blister care for hikers to austere trauma care, fire building, and rope rescue skills. The Travel Medicine track will include topics for the brand new and also the expert travel medicine provider, including the basics of pre-travel preparation, common vaccine conundrums, and updates on vector borne and emerging infections. This content is designed for travel medicine providers but also those in more general clinical practice who are increasingly providing care to travelers (Internal Medicine, Family Practice, College Health and Pharmacists).

2. Identify prevention strategies to improve patient outcomes in a variety of wilderness and international settings.

Registration is online and by credit card only. The registration fees are as follows:

• Attending Physicians: $180

• Fellows, APP (PA/APRN), RNs, LPNs, RTs, NRP, AEMT, EMT, PharmD, ED technicians: $100

• Residents and medical, nursing students, undergraduate students, all others in training: $60

Advance registration is required for planning purposes. The registration deadline is 5 days prior to the activity date. There will be no refunds after that date. Meals
The Lake Morey Inn will provide a full lunch in the dining hall overlooking the lake and peak foliage.

Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
Dartmouth Health designates this knowledge-based activity for a maximum of 7.25 hour. Credit will be provided to NABP CPE Monitor within 60 days after the activity completion.

All other learners may claim CME-designated participation credit. • Enter your Date of Birth (Month and Day)

• In the Credentials section, select NABP ePID# from the drop down and enter your ID number.

• Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Submit
