Neuroscience Education Series - Brain Tumors 101

This education series is intended to address the knowledge gaps surrounding neuro-specific conditions and interventions provided to patients within the neuroscience service line. Through this educational series, staff will learn how to perform and utilize various assessment skills to enhance patient care.

1. Enhance nursing practice through knowledge of neural conditions and interventions.
2. Describe classifications of intra-axial and extra-axial tumors and primary versus secondary tumors.
3. Discuss general management, including steroids for swelling, seizure prophylaxis, and consideration of surgical resection.
