Neuroscience Education Series - Common Drains in Neuroscience

This education series is intended to address the knowledge gaps surrounding neuro-specific conditions and interventions provided to patients within the NCCU/NSCU. Through this educational series, staff will learn how to perform and utilize various assessment skills to enhance patient care.

1. Identify where Neuroscience drains are placed and what type of fluid is being drained.
2. Describe the purpose of the Neuroscience drain.
3. Discuss common complications that may occur when a Neuroscience drain is in place.
