Overview

This Pediatric Lecture Series will discuss important pediatric topics that may lead to the improvement of child health from an individual, health care system and/or societal level. This presentation provides information on screening, diagnosis and treatment options for pediatric patients with disordered eating.

Dr. Holly Schroeder is an Adolescent Medicine physician at Dartmouth Health Children’s and an Assistant Professor at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She received her MD degree at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She completed Pediatrics residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital/Warren Alpert School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island and Adolescent Medicine fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital/University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. She has an MPH in Health Services from the University of Washington. She also completed a Leadership in Adolescent Health Fellowship at the University of Washington.

She currently sees adolescent and young adult patients for reproductive health concerns, gender affirming care, eating disorders, and other health issues specific to the age group at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH and DHMC in Lebanon, NH. She is also faculty at the new Family Medicine residency program at Cheshire Medical Center.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Distinguish between the most common eating disorder diagnoses.
  2. Identify indications for screening for eating disorders in the primary care setting.
  3. Describe strategies for supporting patients and their parents before a treatment team is established.
