Music Therapy and Neurology Panel

This activity seeks to provide understanding and awareness of the ways in which music and neurology intersect to improve patient care. This panel will also seek to provide general knowledge of how we can gain information on the brain through music and the research that has been done. We will bring together a musician, neurologist and music therapist to educate clinicians about the benefits of music in patient care and how they can be incorporated into the care plan.

1. Describe how music has an impact on healing cognitive ailments.
2. Summarize the types of interventions that can happen within music and neurology including how music therapists work within this field.
3. Discuss how integrating music therapy interventions can improve the health of patients and promote patient satisfaction.
