Overview

Value Institute Learning Center Greenbelt training introduces students to the Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology of process improvement, while simultaneously developing their skills as team members. Participants will get a better understanding of how these tools can be applied in their organizations to increase productivity and efficiency, decreasing the complexity of processes and eliminating waste. This training has been designed to fit the needs of health care workers through the use of hands-on activities and presentations that directly relate to real world situations.

Schedule

  • Week 1: March 3 – 4, 2025, 8:30am – 1:00pm
  • Week 2: March 17– 18, 2025, 8:30am – 1:00pm
  • Week 3: April 7– 9, 2025, 8:30am – 1:00pm
  • Week 4: April 28 – 29, 2025, 8:30am – 1:00pm
  • Week 5: May 12, 2025, 8:30 – 1:30pm

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the use of tools and techniques to lead project teams through a continuous improvement project using appropriate tools, processes, and facilitation skills
  2. Utilize data to quantify a problem and assess process performance.
  3. Apply continuous improvement tools and techniques to your everyday work

Cancellations
If you need to reschedule, please email [email protected] as soon as possible. We are happy to work with you to reschedule for another time.

A full refund less $25 processing fee will be issued for cancellations made 15 or more days prior to the class date. If you must cancel your registration within 15 days of the class, a 10% fee will be assessed per registered student.  

Prerequisites
Dartmouth-Health employees must apply for and be accepted to the Greenbelt program prior to registration. Completion of Yellowbelt training is highly recommended in advance of taking the Greenbelt class.

Certification
To earn Greenbelt Certification you must complete the Greenbelt Case Study Modules and a final presentation.

Students selected for the Spring 2025 Greenbelt Training will achieve certification through the Greenbelt Case Study. They will complete five modules where they will apply multiple DMAIC processes and tools to understand and address performance challenges for sepsis care in a fictional hospital emergency department.


Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Dartmouth Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

American Medical Association (AMA)
Dartmouth Health designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 37.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Dartmouth Health designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 37.25 ANCC contact hours. 

All other learners may claim CME-designated participation credit. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of CME-designated participation credit for programs certified for credit by organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Education.

Receiving Credit
The following steps must be completed in order to receive credit and be considered a Trained Greenbelt:

  • Register for the event online
  • Attend and participate in the sessions. Text the code provided during the session to 833-884-3375 to verify your attendance. 
  • Take the post-class exam and score 80% or higher.
  • Complete the online evaluation (located under My Account in the top menu) - Must be submitted within 30 days after the activity
