Overview

The Value Institute Learning Center (VILC) is pleased to offer Virtual Yellowbelt Training, utilizing the Cisco WebEx Meetings app. Students are introduced to Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology of process improvement, while simultaneously developing their skills as team members.

Participants will get a better understanding of how these tools can be applied in their organizations to increase productivity and efficiency, decrease the complexity of processes and eliminate waste. This training has been designed to fit the needs of health care workers through the use of hands-on activities and presentations that directly relate to real world situations.

This class requires use of a computer or laptop with high speed internet. The class cannot be taken via a smart phone or tablet. Use of a web camera is required to ensure you are able to fully participate in the interactive class activities. If this presents any challenges, please email [email protected] for assistance.

February 5, 6, 12 and 13 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm


Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Lead a small-scale improvement initiative in their department.
  2. Participate as an active member of a DMAIC improvement project team.
  3. Utilize primary quality improvement tools in daily problem solving activities.

Cancellation policy
If you need to reschedule, please contact the VILC staff as soon as possible. We are happy to work with you to reschedule for another time. A full refund less $25 processing fee will be issued for cancellations made 15 or more days prior to the class date. If you must cancel your registration within 15 days of the class, a 10% fee will be assessed per registered student.

This course has no prerequisites.


Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Dartmouth Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

American Medical Association (AMA)
Dartmouth Health designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 13.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Dartmouth Health designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 13.00 ANCC contact hours. 

All other learners may claim CME-designated participation credit. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of CME-designated participation credit for programs certified for credit by organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Education.

Requirements for Successful Completion
To be considered a Trained Yellowbelt, you must:

  • Attend and participate in each day of training.
  • Take the post-class exam and score 80% or higher.
  • Submit a class evaluation.

Certification
To earn Yellowbelt Certification, you must complete an improvement project that utilizes the tools and methodologies taught in class. This may be done either independently on a work-related project, or as a member of a Greenbelt team that has completed a project.
