Overview

This session focuses on enhancing knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for effective interprofessional education (IPE). Participants will learn strategies to foster collaboration among healthcare professionals from different disciplines. Through active learning and interactive engagement, the session aims to promote understanding of roles, communication, and teamwork in patient-centered care. The session is geared toward healthcare educators, clinicians, and professionals interested in improving outcomes through interprofessional practice.

Target Audience
Anyone who is employed by Dartmouth Health and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth who teaches students.


Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Define interprofessional education.
  2. Discuss the benefits of interprofessional education.
  3. Describe the necessary elements to produce high quality interprofessional education sessions.
