Overview

Interested in helping people with breastfeeding? This webinar will go over why breastfeeding is so important to newborns and to population health, how to become an IBCLC Lactation Consultant, and jobs available to IBCLC Lactation Consultants.

About the Speaker
Rebecca Williams, MPH, RN, IBCLC, is the new Lead RN of Lactation Services at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. With a BSN in Nursing from Rush University and a Master’s in Public Health from Boston University, Rebecca began her nursing career as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She was inspired to pursue a career in lactation after working with Paula Meier, PhD, RN, FAAN at Rush. Throughout Rebecca’s twenty years in nursing, she has primarily focused on working with families and newborns, particularly with breastfeeding. For over a decade, Rebecca worked as a Clinical Nursing Instructor in Boston area nursing schools, teaching nursing students hands-on skills at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Mount Auburn Hospital. Rebecca is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). As Team Leader for Lactation Services, Rebecca continues to support families, advocate for breastfeeding, and encourage medical professionals as they become IBCLC.
