Overview
In this course, you will learn about the various types of injectable medications used for the treatment of diabetes. We will review in detail the various different types of insulin and how to calculate insulin doses for patients new to insulin. We will present the latest information about GLP-1 agonists to tackle insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes with a comparable outcome to bariatric surgery.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the various types of insulin, including how to calculate the initial insulin dose.
  2. Describe two indications or contraindications requiring a dose adjustment of GLP-1 agonists.
