Overview
This activity presents an overview of fertility preservation in cancer patients. Topics include: factors affecting fertility in cancer patients; fertility preservation options in cancer patients with testes; fertility preservation options in cancer patients with ovaries; current guidelines and best practices regarding fertility preservation; overcoming barriers to discussing fertility preservation; and nursing considerations regarding fertility preservation in cancer patients.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the role and responsibilities of the nurse when caring for cancer patients in need of fertility preservation.
