Overview

An ongoing series of talks to keep primary care clinicians up to date on issues in managing adult patients.

Learning objectives:

  • Discuss the potential benefits and harms of breast cancer screening,
    and why the USPSTF recently lowered their recommended starting age from
    50 to 40.
  • Recognize that professional society recommendations differ, and know how
    to engage the patient in a shared decision making process when potential
    benefits and harms are closely matched.
  • Appreciate changes in eDH that were triggered by the lowering of starting
    age to 40.

Learning Outcome
