The recent increase in opioid use and the health crisis that has resulted has created much concern in NH and VT. Fatalities are growing in number and the related crime statistics are staggering. Substance use disorder is on the rise. Physicians and nurses in all clinical settings are seeing the effects of overdoses of these drugs. EMS personnel and police are equally challenged to respond appropriately to this growing epidemic. Join us as we address the current crisis and discuss new knowledge that will be presented by experts from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.

Learning Outcome
At the conclusion of this learning activity, (at least 75% of) participants will be able to identify newer illicit/street drugs affecting our patient populations in order to better manage the care of patients with life threatening substance use disorder issues.
