Creating Safe Spaces for Gender-Inclusive Care - Part 1: Basic Safe Zone Workshop

This activity is being offered by the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in partnership with the Safe Zone Initiative. Safe Zone is a national program that promotes understanding of and safety for all persons and groups. The workshop supports Dartmouth Health's efforts to have all employees, patients, and families feel welcome and respected in all our places and spaces.

Come and learn:

• About the experiences and perspectives of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, and transgender (LGBTQ+)
• How we can show respect to LGBTQ+ people
• How we can help make DH a kind and caring place for all persons and groups

This workshop offers the chance to ask questions about the LGBTQ+ experience

Learning Outcome(s)
At the conclusion of this learning activity, (at least 75% of) participants will be able to describe an evidence-based practice that is designed to provide optimal care for patients who are members of the transgender population.
