Overview

This program will focus on the ways that changes to various sensory systems may impact the risk of falling, and how to mitigate that risk. Fall risk is a complex issue that often requires coordinated approaches from multiple health professions as well as social services. We will explore several sensory changes that may occur with aging, including dementia, and how to best serve patients who are experiencing increased risk of falling due to these changes.

Learning Outcome(s)
At the conclusion of this learning activity, (at least 75% of) participants will be able to describe a minimum of three ways changes to sensory systems can impact an individual's overall falls risk.
