Overview

The effects of trauma have an impact on all of our patients. Do you know what trauma is?  Have you heard of Trauma Informed Care? This presentation will review the neurobiology of trauma, how previous exposure to trauma can have a lasting effect, trauma informed care approaches to take with our patients, and how to sustain ourselves in this work.

About our Presenter
In her role, Linda Douglas works to enhance the capacity of member programs of the Coalition, and local communities, to address the effects of trauma and the complex needs of victims with mental health and substance abuse problems. She has been training statewide and nationally for the past thirteen years.

Learning Outcome
At the conclusion of this learning activity, (at least 75% of) participants will be able to discuss the importance of implementing a trauma informed approach to patient care.
